Viral Creativity

Something that has been big in business over the last few years has been viral marketing.  Viral marketing is when you create something that people want to share.  Contained within that thing is a message about your product or service.  The more people share it, the more it spreads, and the more people share it.  It has been used very successfully by business but I think it can be used even more successfully for the general benefit of society.  I would like to propose Viral Creativity.

Viral Creativity is the way by which someone has a great idea and that idea spreads.  But not only does it spread, it evolves as it branches out amonst the population.  It takes on new life as more and more people start using the idea and adding their own creativity into the mix.  Sharing promotes positive attitudes and positive attitudes promote creativity.

I think a lot of people have awesome, funky ideas that they keep to themselves.  Little things that make their life or their work easier.  It doesn't occur to them that many others could benefit from those creative ideas.

Here's the Deal

Lets see if this page can become the start of a viral sharing of creative ideas. 

• When you have a great idea,  even if it's just a small one, that improves your life, share it with as many people as you can. Urge them to share the idea around as well.
• If you have a blog, write your own article on Viral Creativity to help spread the word.
• When you see someone else doing something funky, ask them about it and thank them for sharing their ideas.
• If you want to turn this idea into a website that would be awesome.
• Tell people about Viral Creativity and why they should get involved.

At the very least I ask that you leave an idea as a comment below.  Some little thing that you do that makes your life better that others may not know about.  You can also add to other peoples ideas if you can think of a way to improve it.  Then share this page on your social networks, email your friends, etc and encourage more people to contribute and share their creative ideas.
