Keyboard Shenanigans

Friday, 16 September 2011   |   Creativity Challenges

KeysYour creativity challenge this week is to see what weird and wonderful things you can find as patterns on your keyboard.  The QWERTY keyboard that we are all familiar with has some interesting characteristics.  Did you know that the layout of characters means that several thousand English words can be typed with only the left hand while only a few hundred can by typed with the right hand.  Or that the word typewriter can be spelled using only keys from the top row.

There are all manner of patterns, words and names that you may be able to find.

eg. you can find the name Fred or the Norse god Loki as four keys in a square on the keyboard.

With a little bit of creativity you can probably find many other interesting patterns you can make.

If you come up with any good ones feel free to leave a comment below and share.

Remember to check back next Friday when our next Creativity Challenge will be released.
