Noticing

Friday, 09 March 2012   |   Creativity Challenges

ObservationSherlock Holmes was able to deduce a lot about you by noticing a series of minor details and piecing them together to create an overall bigger picture.  A nifty skill to have but can we really do this in real life?  Wouldn't it be great to meet someone for the first time and immediately know what they ate for breakfast and what they got up to last week.  Or to walk into a room and have all it's occupants sussed out in an instant.  This weeks challenge is to see if it's possible.

Your challenge this week is to try and emulate Sherlock Holmes ability to piece minor details together to form a bigger picture.

There are a variety of ways you could go about doing this.  You could use your friends of family as subjects and analyse them next time you meet them.  You could try and observe strangers while riding the bus or train.  Etc.  Be creative and have fun.  Try and observe all the tiniest of details and how they may come together.  Sometimes you'll need to consider several factors together.  One of them may be inconsequential by itself and could mean anything but when considered with various others starts to mean something very specific.

Note:  Exercise common sense when doing this weeks creativity challenge.  Be mindful of others privacy.

Remember to check back next Friday when our next Creativity Challenge will be released.
