A Silly Question

Monday, 12 March 2012   |   Creativity Games

QuestionsThis week we're inquiring.

Game:  There are 5 random words below.  Come up with the most interesting question you can regarding one of them.  Think about the most interesting angles you can come from.

  • Diving Board
  • Stampede
  • Aid
  • Mile
  • Zebra

Challenge:  For extra challenge try and answer someone elses question.  If you don't know the exact answer, be creative and make one up.

Strategy: A large chunk of creative thinking is knowing what questions to ask.  Asking questions that nobody else has thought to ask.  Thinking of obscure angles that bring about new ways to consider the subject.  You should practice this all the time.  When you are on the train or bus, or waiting in line.  Look around you and think about all the questions you could ask about what you see around you.  Why were things painted the colour they are?  What if a different material was used?  What was the person like who laid these tiles? etc.  The more you practice being inquisitive the better you become.  And the better you become the greater the number of angles you will find.  And your creativity will flourish.  So start asking questions and have fun.
